
Emily Calderon, AICP, Director of Planning
With more than 18 years of experience in municipal planning departments, Emily leads MED’s planning efforts. Her background affords her a true understanding of the challenges and opportunities that face our local government clients. She excels at bringing communities together through creative public engagement and creating strategic partnerships that help clients achieve their goals. In addition to long-range planning, Emily is skilled at technical planning and zoning, assisting many clients with site plan review and zoning text updates.
Emily is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) and has been a speaker at local, state, and national planning conferences. Emily Also teaches a graduate-level urban planning course at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, her alma mater. She graduated with both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Geography.
